Pan-Ark Estates Metro District Community Update
Dear Pan-Ark Estates Residents,
We would like to provide several important updates regarding wildfire preparedness, road maintenance, and community concerns within Pan-Ark Estates.
Wildfire Preparedness and Fire Personnel Activity
Many residents may notice an increased presence of fire personnel and fire vehicles throughout Pan-Ark. This activity is part of proactive planning efforts related to the Willow Fire and is intended to help emergency responders prepare for any future needs.
As noted from MEWA, fire personnel are currently conducting a comprehensive assessment of the neighborhood to inventory structures, roads, bridges, access points, and other critical assets. The purpose of this work is to ensure responders have accurate, up-to-date information should the Willow Fire ever impact our area.
At this time:
- Unit A assessments have been completed.
- Crews are currently working in Unit C.
- Unit B is expected to be completed this week or early next week.
- Maps for these sections may be referenced here: Mount Elbert Water Association| Pan-Ark Water
It is important to emphasize that the Willow Fire is NOT currently threatening Pan-Ark Estates. These efforts are precautionary and are being conducted to ensure our community is prepared should conditions change.
If you see fire personnel near your property, please feel free to speak with them. They have been very willing to answer questions and provide information regarding the fire and preparedness efforts.
Salamander Cards and Evacuation Readiness
If you have not already done so, we strongly encourage you to obtain your Salamander Card.
In the event an evacuation order is ever issued, Salamander Cards can significantly expedite the process of returning to your property once authorities determine it is safe to do so.
Road Traffic and Maintenance
As emergency planning and preparedness activities continue, residents may notice an increase in fire trucks and other emergency vehicles traveling throughout Pan-Ark roads.
To support these operations and reduce unnecessary dust creation during this period, road maintenance activities may be performed at a reduced level until current fire-related operations are complete.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we balance roadway maintenance needs with wildfire preparedness efforts.
Camping and Code Enforcement Concerns
The Metro District has received questions regarding unauthorized camping, structures, and the removal of U.S. Forest Service dispersed camping closure signs in the area.
Residents are encouraged to report suspected violations directly to the appropriate authorities. Please note that:
- The Pan-Ark Estates Metro District does not have the authority to enforce camping regulations, land use codes, or violations occurring on private property.
- The District's service plan does not provide authority for private property code enforcement, and such enforcement authority cannot be assumed by the District.
Enforcement of camping regulations, development code provisions, and land-use requirements falls under the jurisdiction of Lake County.
